An easy start to the Dales Highway along the canal from Leeds through to Calverley.
Much tougher day. One of the longest sections, and up across Ilkley Moor. Fingers crossed for good weather.
This looks like a lovely day, with some moor walking and a lovely wooded descent into Skipton with great views.
Actually this is a detour from the Dales Highway. No accommodation available in Malham, our intended destination, so instead we have headed via Gargrave, along the Pennine way to Airton.
Another shorter day today into the town of Settle.
Two choices today, both similar distances. One, the official Dales Highway, goes high up to Ingleborough and into Ribbleshead. The other, for sore feet or bad weather, follows the Ribble Way along the river.
Dales Highway Day 7: Ribbleshead to Sedburgh – 13 miles April 30, 2010
We walk right past the Ribbleshead viaduct today. If you view the map in satellite view, you can see the amazing shadow on the ground. Some nice river stretches, and through the pretty town of Dent.
